Donor Scholarships - CGA Educational Foundation

Donor Scholarships are funded by annual donations to our scholarship fund or through our Scholarship Endowment and are awarded to CGA member company employees and employees’ sons and daughters.

Anheuser-Busch Graduate Scholarship

$2,500 Scholarship

Awarded to a graduate student attending a 4-year public institution.

C&S Wholesale Grocers Scholarship

$2,500 Scholarship

Awarded to a C&S Wholesale Grocers customer employee or dependent pursuing their undergraduate degree.

Donna Simpson Memorial Scholarship

$2,000 Scholarship

Awarded to a CGA retail member company employee or dependent pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance.

ECOS Scholarship

$2,000 Scholarship

Awarded to a CGA retail member company employee or dependent.

Illuminators Educational Foundation Scholarships

Six $2,000 Scholarships

Three awards are dedicated to an applicant with a relationship to a retail company; three awards are dedicated to an applicant with a relationship to a supply or wholesale company. Limited to undergraduate students.

Jack H. Brown Future Leaders Scholarship

$1,000 Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a CGA member company employee or dependent pursuing their undergraduate degree.

Tyler & Kara Kidd Family Scholarship

Tyler and Kara Kidd are advocates for education and lifelong learning, with a deep belief in the power of education to transform lives. Having benefited from scholarship support at various points in their education process, they created the Tyler & Kara Kidd Family Scholarship to give back and empower future generations of students.

Through this gift, Tyler and Kara hope to encourage students not only to achieve their academic goals, but also gain the confidence needed to do extraordinary things in the future! With little kids of their own, they believe in giving others the opportunities to achieve their own goals and dreams.

Kimberly Clark 'Making Lives Better' Scholarships

Two $2,500 Scholarships

These scholarships will be awarded to a CGA member company employee pursuing their undergraduate Business or Communications degree.

Louis Melillo Sr. Legacy Scholarship

Louis Melillo had a long and fruitful career in the grocery industry, starting out working in his mother’s corner store in Massachusetts. Following service in the Marines 1st Division in the Pacific Theater during WWII and the Korean conflict, Lou moved to California and began work as a stock clerk for The Boys Markets, eventually becoming chief operating officer for the company. In 1981, he opened Louis Foods Supermarket in Pasadena, the first of four stores. Lou was a long time member of the Southern California Grocers Association and served as its Chairman from 1978-1979 prior to the merger with the California Grocers Association. Louis passed away in 2010.

Lynn Melillo Leadership Scholarship

$3,000 Scholarship

Donated by Retail Marketing Services, Inc. in honor of Lynn Melillo’s service as CGA Board Chair for 2024.

This scholarship will be awarded to a CGA member company employee or dependent pursuing their undergraduate degree.

Rob McDougall Family Scholarship

$5,000 Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student.

Moss Adams Scholarship

$1,500 Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a CGA retail member company employee or dependent pursing either an Accounting or Finance undergraduate degree.

$2,000 Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a CGA retail member company employee or dependent.

Post Consumer Brands Scholarship

This scholarship will be awarded to a CGA retail member company employee or dependent.

Thomas P. Raley Scholarship
